My name is Mandi, and I’m a young professional working as an assistant editor at a medical magazine based in New Jersey. As an aspiring journalist/editor, I’m starting a blog to hone my writing skills and expand my future career horizon.
I love to write reviews of cheaper alternatives to designer-name products based on a few factors: (1) How does it work? (2) How much does it cost? (3) How accessible is it? (4) How likely is it that people will buy it and actually use it? (5) Is it easy to use?
My inspiration for writing this blog comes from my family. My mother taught me at a young age that pinching pennies isn’t always a bad thing. If you can save money on the non-necessities in life, then you can have more of what you need – especially in today’s world of student loan payments and the high cost of living in the tri-state area.
As a current young professional in the workforce who recently moved out of my parents’ house, I find that penny pinching comes easy: If I don’t need it to live, I don’t need it period. Focusing on what matters most is important for my lifestyle.
